We called it Tara Global, which is Sanskrit for a star.

We are one of India’s largest Candle Manufacturers producing Floating Candles, Pillar Candles, Votive Candles, Jar Candles, Hurricane Candles, Wax Melts, Wax Bars, T-Lights Tin Candles, all under one roof!

From humble beginnings to becoming Asia’s largest candle producer, accounting for 65 percent of the market share for candle supply in the corporate segment, Pan India.

Tara Candles was established in 2005 by a husband-wife duo, producing 10 kg of candles per day for a single client in the Mumbai region, the history of Tara candles begins here.

Tara Candles has emerged as the most recognised name in the candle business in India across three categories, namely pillar, floating, and container candles. Apart from being the country’s best-selling candle brand, catering to thirteen regions in India, it has also made an international footprint.

The candle manufacturer is currently producing 3000 kg of candles per day, has an ever-expanding team of 85 members, and boasts over 90 corporate and 5000 individual clients in its portfolio.

From supplying candles to Salim Azgar Ali’s Emirates Airlines showroom, the company has since signed contracts with a number of five-star hotels, including the Taj Hotel chain, J.W. Marriott, Grand Hyatt, and ITC Sheraton Group of Hotels, to name a few.

Tara Candles also entered the Pharmaceutical Industry, with Aristo Pharmaceuticals as its first client, and in less than fifteen days, it delivered 100,000 star-shaped candles. This has all contributed to the brand’s continuous expansion, along with the company’s inclusion in several pharmaceutical companies like Alkem, Dr. Reddys, Alembic, Ipca, and many more, as suppliers of one of the best candle manufacturers with distinctive concepts and designs.

Interestingly, even when the economy seemed headed towards recession at the time of COVID 19, the brand only grew stronger by supplying one lakh sixty thousand corona-shaped candles to Alkem Pharma in 16 days and catering to supplying almost fifteen lakh candles in the same year to various corporates.

Tara Candles provided candles for Prince William and Duchess of Cambridge’s gala dinner at the Taj Mahal Colaba, which was awarded by Shri Ratan Tata for the best product and services rendered to Taj in the last 12 years.

Digital marketing footsteps were adopted in 2016, and Tara Candles made their first export to the U.K. market for a container load of candles to the Infinity Group.

Tara Candles has now been onboarded at Choitrams Group in the UAE, Infinity Group in the UK, Shopper Stop in India, Amazon India, and Flipkart in India. The candle-making business also plans to serve the European and American markets as well as establish Tara Candle Distributors around the world.

Currently, Tara Candles’ product line consists of 8,000 pillar candles, 9,800 floating candles, and 2,240 container candles.

FAQs

Q Which is the best place to store candles?

Candles burn best in still air. Draughts can cause a candle to smoke, soot or burn unevenly. Make sure to place them away from open windows and doors.

Q Should I trim the wick?

Looking after the wick of your candle is extremely important! Before lighting, always ensure your candle wick is trimmed to approximately 5mm.

By trimming the wick it will remove any ‘clubbing’ – the build-up of carbon that can be visible at the end of a wick, prevent the candle from sooting – black marks that will form around the edge of the candle glass, ensure better scent diffusion and prevent high flames which are unsafe.

Q What is candle memory?

To maximize the lifespan of your candle, you will need to set the candle memory. The size of the wax pool on the first burn sets the memory for the lifetime of the candle. When you light your candle for the first time do not extinguish it until an even wax pool reaching the edge of the glass has formed. This can take between 3-4 hours. Your candle will then burn evenly all the way down. If you extinguish your candle before a complete wax pool has been formed, you may experience “tunnelling” and you will be left with a perimeter of unburned wax.
